A 99th Birthday Party!
The recent cold and wet weather did not dampen the spirits of the ladies of Yoxall WI at their 99th birthday party. Members of the committee had dressed the tables with white cloths and green runners, wineglasses and lovely flower arrangements in glasses. Everyone arrived with a plate of food to share, sweet or savoury and we also welcomed several visitors from the Blythe group to join us.
After some very brief business announcements and a toast to absent friends we enjoyed the delicious food from the buffet table, washed down with wine or soft drinks.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by Holly Reynolds, who took us to the 50s and 60s with music. Songs by Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield and Doris Day were enjoyed by us all, some of us even taking to the dance floor and others just happy to sing along.

Holly really captured the style of that era and did a wonderful job of entertaining us all.
Tea and coffee followed and the raffle draw was eagerly anticipated. Our visitors left and then we just had the tidying up to do! A lovely evening had been enjoyed.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday 10th July when we will have David Cheshire telling us about Bonsai trees. Visitors will be made most welcome. We meet in Yoxall Parish Hall at 7.30pm and further details can be obtained from Penny Bailey through the link at the bottom of the page.
