WE HAVE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!

In addition to a programme of inspiring speakers, we have the following interest groups:

BOOK GROUP: Read a different book each month, held at houses of members.

CRAFT GROUP: knitting, sewing and more! - held at houses of members.

WALKING GROUP: explore your local area in a leisurely way.

OUTINGS: a variety of events are organised during the year, including Theatre visits.

FUND RAISING

Our portion of the Annual Subscription does not cover all of our expenses; therefore we need to raise money for those ‘extras’.

MAY MARKET: All members are involved in organising stalls, tombola, raffle and refreshments etc. This is our major fund raising event.

RAFFLE AND BRING AND BUY STALL:
At each meeting, proceeds from the raffle and sales stall, pay for our Christmas Party. We rely on members to donate raffle prizes and to BRING something for the stall and also BUY something.

COFFEE MORNINGS AND SPECIAL EVENTS:  these are held at intervals during the year and help to boost our general funds.

THE ORGANISATION

Every W.I. in the Country belongs to its own
County Federation.

The Staffordshire Federation of Women’s Institutes
SFWI - over the year The County organises a varied and exciting programme of events which every member can attend. Details are given at the monthly meetings and also in Pot Pourri, which is Yoxall’s monthly Newsletter.

The National Federation of Women’s Institutes
N.F.W.I - this is the coordinating body for all W.Is. The National Committee is elected by all W.I.s in the Country, and is made up of W.I. members. At the Annual A.G.M., representatives from W.I.s have the chance to vote on proposed ‘resolutions, these are then campaigned for, raising awareness of matters of National concern. The W.I. Life is the National Magazine and is sent to all members.

Denman College: set in a wonderful manor house in Oxfordshire, the W.I.s own College offers a fantastic range of courses. These are open to everyone, to learn new skills and meet new people.

A.C.W.W: Associated Country Women of the World, of which The W.I. organisation is a member. It supports women and their families in developing countries. The ‘voting’ coins from our monthly competition support this cause.
